Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Giro shoe sizing

I'm interested in buying one of their shoes but I would like to know how they run in size, particularly compared to Shimano and Specialized which I own. I wear 42 in Shimano and 41.5 in Specialized, so I'm torn between these two sizes. Giro's chart indicates 41.5 is equal to 8.5 which is what I wear for most sneakers, but I also read from searching that they run small. I don't really want to go to the LBS to try them on then waste the employees' time by buying cheaper online, which is what I intend to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Hard to equivocally say. I wear a size 49 Giro, and a 49 Sidi, and a 48.66 size for Mavic. For running shoes, I'm in a 14 US. For dress shoes I wear a size 13 US. ymmv

I own 2 pairs of giros, empires and trebles they both fit 44 on me which is 10.5us which is what I wear..they don't run wide though so if you have a wide foot iunno...waste the employee's time and try for yourself imo, shoes are finicky

I have a pair of Giro Factors and also an older pair of Shimanos. They are both 47s, the Shimanos feel a bit bigger at that size but not by much. Both fit.

I have a pair of Shimanos and a pair of Giros. Both are 45s and fit equally.

I have two pairs of Giros. One in 41, the other in 41.5. The 41.5s are probably a bit tighter, if anything.
