Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Helmets with Magnetic Goggles / Shields

I'm wondering if anyone has tried any of the helmets with Magnetic-attached goggles? One of the riders at my local group rides a couple of years ago had a Giro Air Attack, and said it was great except the air flow wasn't very high... On warm days his head would get warmer than wearing a more ventilated helmet.

I resolved to watch the market for other (and hopefully cheaper) options, but forgot about them over winter and then forgot to start looking again in the spring... Well, two springs, actually.

I see now that there are other manufacturers making them... Base Camp, Bell Star Pro (may not be magnetic?), GUB

Does anyone have any experience with Basecamp or Gub helmets?

Are you wanting a magnetic visor in particular, or do you just want an integrated visor? Does it need to be removable?

The Casco SpeedAiro and DuxHelm are other variants of the form.

What I liked about the magnetic ones is that you can flip them over and attach them upside down... When you don't need the shield that's handy because you don't have to find a pocket for it. If the other integrated-style shields can do that, I am not sold on magnetic... It just seems like an elegant way to solve that problem.
