Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Jamis Quest or Satellite? Advice?

I'm buying a new bike and I'm torn between the Jamis Quest and the Jamis Satellite- my lbs says that they will upgrade the componentry to Ultegra on the Satellite for a total of around $1000....or swap out the wheels on the Quest and drop the price to around $1050. What would you do? Are the wheels on the Quest all that great? Because I'm leaning toward that...
Thanks!

I'd go with the Quest, but it's really a win-win situation.

Upgrading to Ultegra on the Satellite is intriguing, there should be quite a bit to change, so I do find that somewhat odd that they would go to all that time & trouble.

I'd get the quest... and I'd keep the wheels on it if at all possible. Easton/Velomax wheels usually get pretty good reviews.
