What Seatbag Do You Use? What's In It?
I use a large expandable seatbag from avenir (the "big mouth").
It's not stylish at all but gets the job done. The items I pack include:
-keys
-cell phone
-wallet
-tire levers
-spare tube
-patch kit
-multi-tool
I mount a rear taillight.
I weighed everything and it comes in a bit under 2 lbs. There's not much spare room so not sure if I could size down to a medium. I get the feeling I'm 'overpacking' but everything I've listed seems to be an essential.
What bag do you use? I'm wondering if I can rethink what's absolutely essential for a 2-3 hour ride.

This is what I use:
It goes inside my middle jersey pocket. It carries:
- Patch kit
- Dollar bill
- Quick link
- Chain breaker
- Levers
- Multi tool
- Latex gloves
- 2 CO2 cannisters
- CO2 inflator
I also carry a mini pump in my other jersey pocket and a small saddle bag with two tubes in it.

Lezyne Micro Caddy-- tube, inflator (tiny), 2x CO2, multitool, patch kit
Everything else goes in the jersey. The saddle bag is for the repair kit only and always stays on the bike. It gets opened every couple of months, but mostly stays closed.

Same here-my old Jandd mini tool kit bit the dust, so just switched to the Lezyne Microcaddy Sm. On the "fast" bike: 1 Tube, patch kit, 2 levers, 1Co2/Microflate Nano inflator, Lezyne v5 tool (in bottom pocket), and I can j-u-s-t squeeze my house keys in there. Tiny blackburn mini pump goes in jersey pocket.
My other bike I use a standard size Jandd Tool Kit bag with a bit more payload for longer laid, back rides and larger tire size: 1 tube (700x25-28), patch kit, Specialized Air chuck, 2 tire levers, Co2 cartridge, Mini tool. Older very reliable Topeak pocket rocket model mini pump mounted on seat tube cage. This bag still has room for a gel or two and and maybe stowing a pair of arm warmers or packable wind vest.
Both bags have some reflective trim too, which I like.

I can understand it. I usually carry 2, but had only one the time I screwed up getting it seated and managed to only slightly inflate the tire. Had to ride 15 miles with about 35 psi in the tire.
Now I try to always have two cartridges. Along with 1 tube, tire levers, a multi-tool and a cell phone.

Just checked- I have 2, not 3...I use to carry 3 just cuz I had the room and rarely very got flats. I have only had two flats in years. I have a patch kit too. I carry an extra CO2 in case one messes up. I have recently been thinking that carrying two lightweight/compact tubes may be a better idea. Still learning...
EDIT- I have had a CO2 mess up on the mtn bike, leaving me with only 15-16 PSI on one remote ride where the sidewall gashed and I had to use a tube (my one flat on the MTB). That was a bit scary so I carry extra CO2.

On rides where I'll only need one bottle, I pop this in the other bottle holder. On days where I want two water bottles, I take the roll out and put it in a jersey pocket.
I never carry more than one key - if I'm riding from home, the garage has a keypad, so I don't carry any keys; if I'm riding from the car, I just carry the key fob and leave the bigger set of keys in the glove box.

Non omnino gravis
I rode with members of the Bianchi women's team and some of the Norco/H&R Block team during an LBS ride right before the Redlands Bicycle Classic. And you know what? Every last one of those bikes had a saddle bag on it. Because when you ride in the real world, you either bring spares, or you go prepared to walk.

This looks like a road bike to me. You'll notice it has a relatively large seat bag affixed to it. Poor devil went down recently. I think you might know him.
Edit: Ah, USAC. I guess it's like when the Pope speaks Ex Cathedra? Froome was not riding a "road bike" at the time. I see. Nice theory.

It is just I go sit at the restaurant with the intent and doing invoicing and they put a beer in front of me and my browser comes up Bikeforums.
Clearly I have a problem.
But I will ride tomorrow at 6:00 AM.

Being a socal rider I think a road bike needs a camera on the rear - and front - with lights.

I'm beginning to really like him despite how he rides.
