Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bb386/bb30a

Hello, long time lurker, decided to finally make an account.

I’m looking to purchase a Stages power meter for my 2016 Tarmac, I have the FSA Gossamer Pro crankset, I believe the FSA Energy is the correct crank arm for the crankset. On the crank arm it says “FSA Gossamer 386”, however, on Specialized website it says the Tarmac is BB30, and on the bike there is an adapter that says “BB386/30A adapter”.

I’m confused on which one to purchase, BB386 or BB30/BB30A.

It sounds to me like I need the BB386, but I want to be sure before I order anything.

Garmin Vector pedals are another option, where I don’t need to worry about compatibility, but i’ve heard some mixed reviews on them. Any insight on this?

Thank you in advance.

Choose BB386 if your current crank is BB386. Then it will attach onto the other crank arm with the least fuss. It will also have the correct q factor to match the other arm.

The BB is seperate. The 'BB386/30A adapter' label just means you can fit either type of crank. As your only attaching the left crank arm, that label is not relevent.
