Are these wheels worth saving?
I ran over a self tapping screw last week and hit it at just the perfect angle so that it went through my rim. This was the back wheel of the XeroLite XR-4 wheels that came stock with my Giant. I've been wanting to upgrade for a while, so it gave me a good excuse to buy a new set of Open Pros yesterday (that and Performance had a 20% off coupon).
Anyway, is this rim now trash? It has a hole about 2 mm in diameter in the center of it. I don't even want to give it away if there's a safety concern.

The rims are toast...
But save the hubs and spokes for backups...
You think they'd have any value to you or your LBS? Check with them...

Use it as a trainer wheel. put old tires on it and use it only for the trainer so you don't eat up those race tires during warm ups
