New Pinarello f10 build
Hey everyone,
Just getting back into cycling after a few years away dabbing in other sports just got the itch again to ride. So I just put a deposit down on asteroid red F10 gram and my LBS. so excited. Let me start off by staying in no way near experienced enough to need a bike like this but YOLO right!! So hard work comes rewerd and this is what it's all about. So here's my question. I've done a little research into E-shifting and between shimano durace and Sram etap which setup would you guys with experience recommend for this build! I'm not ordering a complete. Just the frame so everything is going to be handpicked and tailored to my size and wants. Any all info would be appreciated!!! CHEERS- Sean also any recommendations on other build components would be appreciated. FYI carbon cockpit is a must

Hey guys also haven't made my mind up yet on a group set I'm only considering duarace Di2 or etap I rode both yesterday for the first time and was impressed with the Di2. My last bike had sram red so I'm kinda partial to sram but the Di2 opened my eyes! Any insight there would be helpful thanks again. Frame should arrive in about a week is what I'm told so decisions to be made here shortly. Thanks again for the help here- Sean

that was a snarky reference to a troll post that was happening for a while. You should NOT look into those wheels unless you just want to spend money for the sake of spending it.
secondarily, i have not ridden eTap, but I have DI2 on my road and TT bikes and it's great.

When considering electronic groups when budget isn't a major concern I wouldn't rule out Campagnolo EPS, especially on a Pinarello. The user base isn't as wide as Shimano or SRAM but over on Weightweenies the system receives a lot of praise. And you'll likely not ride with anyone else who has the same group, especially if you go with Super Record EPS, which for an F10 you are pretty much obligated

Campagnolo EPS....soo nice. On a Pinarello, very apropos. I really should change my Colnago's group set.

"Asteroid Red" is a black bike with red accents.

Agreed that Campy is the only proper thematic choice, if you're wanting to highlight the Italian-ness of it. Plus you won't have to content with the cheap pop-button feel of the eTap paddles. Great shifting in either case, though, and if you're building it up yourself there's nothing easier than eTap... yet.

You have to go with Campy EPS, either Record or SR. Don't be like everyone else out there. A friend has an F8 with Record EPS and everyone comments on it...looks better and you get to keep it Italian.

Check out my build I am doing on a Pinarello F10 in Team Sky Color as it also may give you some ideas.. I had selected Sram Red ETAP and really no specific reason except i did not have a ride yet with it. I am sure you can not go wrong with any of them you had mentioned... Great looking color you selected and if i did not have about 10 red bikes already, i would have selected that Asteroid Red...

Any of those name brand wheel sets would be fantastic on your new F10 build, you may also want to consider a set of MEILENSTEIN LIGHTWEIGHT OBERMAYER Wheels for it as that is what i had decided to roll with on my new F10 Build. You can not go wrong with a set of MEILENSTEIN LIGHTWEIGHTS. These we also suggested to me by all the top wheel wizzards of this forum when i was building both my new F8 and F10. ! Give them a look ..

So here's a quick update:
The frame has arrived I haven't unpacked it yet but it's here so that's a plus! Here's what I've ordered so far :
Frame: F10 asteroid red
Brakes: THM
Wheels: enve 3.4ses
Cockpit: most talon
Group: Etap
Pedals: speed play Ti
Still need to figure out the rest of this beast but I like the looks of what's taken place so far!! Any thoughts would be great
