Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Boyd Wheels

Great people, excellent communication and a fine product. Just gave my new set of 44mm carbon clinchers a ride today. The owner (Boyd) spent time with me on the phone and thru messenger services helping make the final decision on my wheels. GREAT customer service. I'm a happy camper.

That is all....

Agreed! I have the 44mm Carbon clinchers as well. Very pleased with the quality, affordability, and aesthetics. I had Altamonts on a bike I sold. Straight and solid.

I have a set of custom built Altamont Lite Alloy wheels with Chris King hubs. I've had ~500k feet elevation on them. Nice wheels.

I know what you mean. I used to take a bike on the airplane too.

We're blessed in South Cal. There are a few 4,000-6000 ft mountains with decent paved roads, and not a single traffic light. I don't like long descent with carbon rims. I've tried several combinations. In the end, Altamont Lite Alloy with swissstop pads works magic.

I've never used Boyd wheels but a riding buddy of mine swears by them and loves them. Based on his recommendation I wouldn't hesitate to purchase them.

I installed a set of Boyd Rouleurs, their low-end aluminum wheels, last year. 5,300 miles so far, and I like them.

I have an early 2012 set of 50mm carbons. Well, my wife does. I had them for 6 months or so when my wife got her first carbon bike and I decided to let her try them for a while. I never got them back. Still going strong.
