2017 CAAD12 Ultegra
Been riding my 1999 Trek 2000 for about 5 years now and this past year I've been getting the itch to upgrade. I'm 32, most of my rides are 40-50 miles, and usually average around 18-20MPH.
I've done some research here and online and think I've narrowed it down to the Cannondale CAAD12. I was initially going to go with 105 model but I found one with Ultegra for $1,800 out the door.
My questions are:
1. Is $1,800 for a new 2017 CAAD12 Ultegra a fair price?
2. Are there any other bikes I should be considering besides the Cannondale?
I'm from Massachusetts and winter is coming so I'm sure if I waited more deals would pop up but I'm thinking $1,800 for a 2017 is pretty fair.
Appreciate anyone's input!

You should try test riding some bikes and see which one you like best. Similar would be the Emonda ALR, the entry level TCR, Allez Sprint. The CAAD12 is hard to beat though.

I would say test at least a few others. I tested a Tarmac Sport, and a CAAD12. I'm happy I decided on the CAAD12
1800 sounds good, I would see if they could go lower though with 2018 on its way out.

Haha love it
The Emonda and TCR look nice, especially the Emonda. My absolute max budget is $2k but I did see a used Emonda for $1,600 shipped with full Ultegra.
Solid advice. If I decide on the CAAD, I'll be sure to at least test ride that before purchasing.
Checked REI, didn't see any 52cm's left
The $1,800 price is from a bike shop, never considered haggling with them before; is that bad etiquette?

Supersix 105 possibly. The frame has some more compliance. Soaks up chatter better. A bit lighter. The components aren't as good but it's a better base to build off and upgrade.

It's the other side of the nation, but Helen's Cycles in Santa Monica was offering me $2300 for a SuperSix Evo Hi-Mod with Ultegra. Might be worth asking around at various shops. I think this is the right to buy a '17 before the '18s come out. It was a particularly garish shade of yellow, however. I ended up paying too much for a Wilier GTR SL, and partly wish I'd gone with a CAAD12 (I feel slightly like a jackass at 220lbs on a fancy-ish Italian bike). But eff it, it's my money and looking at it makes me want to ride it more.

It's 400 less than msrp so its likely the end of the season price. I think its worth it. Comes with lower level mavics which are not junk at all.

I love my Caad and that Caad12 looks like a good deal if it suits you but my local Cannondale dealer here in Orlando has a good deal on some 2018 Supersix Evo 105's going for $1,749.00 I'm sure they'd be happy to ship one to you. Looks like 3-5 business days out Cannondale SuperSix EVO 105 - Orange Cycle-Orlando-OrangeCycleOrlando.com- bicycle - bike - store - shop - bike fit

Says multiple places that they won't ship. And the matte black is a 2017 and that's what's available for 1750 so I think listing it as a 2018 is a mistake. My dealer is selling a 2017 for the same exact price. If it is in fact a 2018 then it's a great price, but there is zero difference between 17 and 18 other then colors.

"This item is not permitted to be shipped, however it can be purchased online and picked up at your convenience."
I think you are right about it being a 2018. That's a good deal.

I absolutely loved the CAAD12, it's a really great value - especially for $1800!
Test ride it, if you like it, buy it and don't look back!
The only downside I see is the spider ring but I doubt you'll be replacing chainrings often so it's not much of a concern.

Thanks for confirming the value of the bike. Seems like it's a good deal @ $1,800
