Official KTM Bikes Thread

1 Attachment(s)
Now that KTM Bikes are breaking ground in the U.S., I'm hoping to see more folks riding these awesome bikes, so with that said, I wanted to start a KTM bikes thread so owners could show off their rides and see who else out there is riding them.

I'll start it off with my 2017 KTM Revelator 3500. It's had a few minor changes to it.. I replaced the stem and the wheels (tossed on my Shimano RS81's). Fantastic bike.. perhaps one of the best bikes I've ever ridden and that says a lot for an 'entry level' Carbon bike. Comfortable, responsive, lightweight and fast.. I couldn't ask for more. of my 2 bikes, I actually prefer riding this one.. and that speaks volumes because technically, it's seriously outmatched against my other bike.

They make great motorcycles, so why not (I assume they are part of the same company)? I'll be interested to see how well their bikes do in the US.

PS: I just went on their website. They make a TON of bikes. Too many, maybe? I dunno. So all their bicycles are made in Austria? I think that some of their motorcycles are made in India now (not sure).

I've always been a big fan of their motorcycles.. and I can tell you from test riding that their bicycles do not disappoint. They've been making bicycles since 1964, but they're only just now entering into the U.S. Market, so I think they're just trying to bring over a good selection.. a little something for everyone so they don't pigeon hole themselves somewhere.

Where did you get your bike? I am only now familiarizing myself with their website; trying to find a dealer nearest where I live.

I purchased it online as there are currently no dealers by me. We're working on changing that. But, their online support is fantastic and they'll help you get the right bike in the right size so you can feel confident in what you're buying. I was hesitant at first, but we took some measurements and I ordered the bike and it fits like a glove and I couldn't be happier with it.

Correct. Still nice rides.

Also, nice shill thread.

Yes, but it is KTM, after all.

I have fond memories of a Superduke 990 (she was a beast and a virago and almost killed me ten times over; but I loved her all the more for it). :D

:D

Never owned a KTM myself, but they made for some pretty great supermotos. Also, I had a Husqvarna and they now own that brand, so yeah.

The little sportbike looks sweet too, wouldn't mind getting one of those. Might be a while until I am in a position to get a motorcycle again though.

:foo:

"Shill" doesn't mean what you think it does.

Well, theoretically, neither was I supposed to have been able to afford one either--I'm too poor, according to a certain personage with whom I've crossed swords, recently. :D

But, all this is neither here nor there.

The new SuperDuke is an amazing bike. WAY too much power though. They are working on a 790 Duke to fit between the 690 and the 1290 and I'm excited to try that one out. It's nice to see some fans of the brand here.

I guess the dictionary has lied to me again.

Hopefully Walmart will buy KTM so we will be able to get ourselves a nice ride on the cheap.

shill

noun
1.
an accomplice of a hawker, gambler, or swindler who acts as an enthusiastic customer to entice or encourage others.

The OP isn't hiding his affiliation with KTM.

I still have ***dreams over her . . .

PepeM 09-19-17 09:30 AM

Just realized that they now have some e-bikes. Wonder how fast/light they are. I guess I'll have to read up on it.

LOL< nope. I'm an Ambassador, but I love the bike. Just trying to raise awareness of a brand I'm passionate about. :) I also started a Wilier thread.. and I have 0 affiliation with them.. I just love the bike.

FTR, I'm not the one calling you a shill.

Agreed. Glad your buddy is ok! Hopefully he's insured and can replace the bike :)

A curse on whoever started this thread! :D

I started thinking about my old Superduke and got reinfected. Tomorrow I'm going up to Reno to check out this Bad Boy . . . .

Grasschopper 09-22-17 12:35 PM

Does KTM make TT bikes? I saw some bright orange TT rig while watching the UCI World TT Champs last night, that I couldn't make out who was the maker. I did see that the polish team was sponsored by KTM. One of my old bosses was sponsored by KTM and rode Enduros...several time member of the US enduro team.
