Importing new Koga Miyata
I am currently living in the US and I would love to import a Koga Miyata bike here. I know they have not imported them to the US for quite some time now, but I am curious to see if there is a way to purchase one and have it shipped here. I have an 1991 Team Miyata and would love to get a brand new Koga Miyata so I can continue riding Miyatas.
I've only hit dead ends, so hopefully I can get a definitive answer.
Thanks, Michael

The Koga part of Koga Miyata no longer sells, as far as I understand it, Miyata frames or bikes, having moved over to local Dutch production, thus the Miyata part of that company is gone. I also doubt they make their own carbon race bikes, doubtful about the aluminum versions, and I didn't see anything in steel on their website.

It's a long shot but once upon a time, American Cyclery in San Francisco sold a bunch of factory spare Koga Miyatas when Miyata was pulling out of the US market. I have a City Liner that is my favorite bike. Mind, I purchased this in '98 from AC. But who knows, they might have a frame or 2 sitting around.
Outside of that, the only thought is contacting a dealer in Europe willing and able to sell online and ship.
Note that and dependent on what particular feature of a Koga you want, and while I love my lugged frame Miyata, there's a lot of frames made here in the US, lugged as well as welded, that would do as nice a job, Soma, Surly, Velo Orange, Gunnar, Rivendell area few that come to mind

A firm called Miyata began to make bikes again a couple of years ago in Japan. The original one disappeared. Those new Miyata bikes I have seen online were very expensive, and only available in rather small sizes.
Meanwhile Koga continues to make bikes too; they sponsored Mark Beaumont for his Round the world record. But those two stopped working together a long time ago.

Looked them up, found this interesting bit:
Miyata is a Japanese manufacturer of bicycles, unicycles and fire extinguishers. The company has been in operation since 1890.
Quite the product range.
