I crashed really bad

I was cruising down Riverside Dr in Manhattan and a van pulled a u turn directly in front of me. I hit and went flying, I think over the van but im not sure. I broke my wrist and badly bruised or maybe broke the other. My knee also got banged but seems to be OK.

My bike, a CF beauty, came out almost unscathed. The steerer tube broke on my fork, but the carbon didn't. the frame barely has a scratch. One of the brifters, chorus, broke and Im not sure where. My front wheel had a few broken spokes, but the wheel didn't potato chip, the rim looks like it may still be true. I say this as a response to those that say a cf frame won't survive. It didn't bend chip shatter or anything else.

Aftermath?

Wha happened with the cager? Cops? Flashing red lights?

Tell it Man!

Crap... The bike surving is not the issue... It is replacable, you are not... The aftermath.. Cause of crash, cops etc etc ... If this was a illegal manouver, you should be able to get the damages fixed by the guys insurance company or a cash settlement. Hope the wrists heal quick... My wishes for a speedy recovery..

You broke a wrist and may have broken the other as well, and all you care about is the cf frame of your bike?

I'd suggest you have your head examined to make sure it didn't suffer in the crash.

When I broke my wrist last year, they did a cat scan of my head and I wasn't even babbling about my bike frame.

Whoa, when did this happen? What did the police/witnesses say?

Not to worry. I'm fine.

I hope you heal up soon. As to the bike, I would definately have it inspected... preferably by the manufacturer if possible. CF can hide damage.

Sorry to hear that. Heal soon. What street on Riverside dr??? If you were at the corner of 84th street, you can take a small path down to the West Side bike path.

I was up at 158th or so. The Velomax wheel you sold me was on the front and it took all the impact and had a few broken spokes, but it still looks round.

I think the d*ckhead who pulled a U-turn in front of you will be funding your new bike.

Was this Sunday??? Around 2pm? I was coming back from my training ride from NJ and saw 2 or 3 cyclists kind of talking to the police with a ambulance.
