Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah, I really need to bring my rollers to work one day and get them sorted. There seems to be some excess play in one of the drums, and it causes a hell of a noise from time to time. Otherwise, I'd probably just jump on those for the sake of getting some spin time. I don't have a standard trainer.

^^ Wrist is generally preferred by patient, but depends on your radial artery size and anatomy.

Interesting story, the "angioseal" they use to seal the groin site after femoral artery catheterization, was invented by one of my patients.

I might just have to accept that this will be a short week. I've got a lot going on and 2 parties to go to this weekend. I was just hoping to keep it at 50+ miles a week, but stuff happens. If I can get a solid 30 miles in this weekend, I'll just have to do that.

Bravo. It's rare to see this level of self-awareness. And I'm not being snide here either.

I mean, I CAN be snide - just not this time. Chapeau.

Gonna get it on at some Austin singletrack after the new year.

Iron Mountain needs to hurry up and get me on board already so I can start picking up some ultralight camping equip.

Shame you have to wait. REI has 25% off some Big Agnes UL tents, among other things. Think the sale ends Sunday.

In other bike related news: a former co-worker of mine is now the North Texas area sales rep for Trek. I really should use that to my advantage somehow...

In all seriousness, do you know what really sucks? When I first saw my Crockett frame on the website in the pink colourway, I fell in love. Absolutely had to have it. Went back to the shop and built bikes over the Christmas holidays to pay for it. About a year or so later, I notice a LOT of the guys at the shop have a pink Crockett. I asked about it at the party. Turns out they didn't move well and all the guys who bought the frame got it on DEEP discount at about 1/3 of the price I paid for it.

I think I said it earlier, but yeah I'm a sucker.
