Disc wheelset on a budget recommendation needed

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Disc wheelset on a budget recommendation needed

Tried to search, but did find anything useful.
Just picked Specialized Roubaix Disc frameset for my wife and trying to figure out what should I get. I am trying to stay under $500-600 dollars, ideally something no more than 1600gm. Looks like a number of disc wheelset with QR options is rather limited.
Another option is to build wheels myself (I have done it before), not sure what is the road disc hub situation and whether I need a special rim.
Any recommendations/suggestions are welcome, thanks!

In that price range, I'd check out some Hunts - https://www.huntbikewheels.com/colle...tubeless-ready

If you can step it up a little, The Racery has the HED Ardennes GP Plus at $699. They don't specifically mention QR/TA, so you might want to inquire - https://theracery.com/products/arden...et#description

edited to add: if you're going to build, you don't need a special rim, but I wouldn't buy one with a gleaming silver brake track because it'll look bush league.

You can go to ProWheelBuilder and build up any number of disc wheelsets within your weight and cost requirements. American Classic hoops with Bitex centerlock hubs and double butted Sapim spokes is 1430g for $485. If you're gonna spend $500-600, may as well get something built to your specs.

The above mentioned Ardennes are exceptionally close to my KinLin/Bitex wheelset from ProWheelBuilder, only they cost $200 more.

What's the build spec? Is that with tubulars?

Take a look at the DT Swiss pre-build wheelsets, they're future-proofed. The disc wheelsets come with adapters for QR, 12mm and 15mm included, swap them by hand, no tools needed.. The rims and spokes are standard DT parts you can buy easily too. I bought a set of the R23 SPLINE DB, 1650 grams, 24 spoke aero spokes and 23mm deep/24mm wide rims, $425 shipped. In your price range you might be able to afford the upgraded versions with CF rims and the fancy star-ratchet freehub.

You can find great deals on the Ardennes wheelsets online right now. I just picked up a set of Ardennes Plus LT for $630. I was planning on building up my own wheels but I couldn’t buy the parts for that.

Here are a few sales I've spotted recently, although the custom build you mentioned sounds pretty solid!

Yes, these 100% or campy zondas. If not, just wait 1 year, prices will drop.
