What?! Nobody has anything to say about the 50% price increase on ZWIFT?

Notices
Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

I know those guys are on here, but someone must have an opinion!

I meant Zwift...this is what happens when you start a thread and aren’t fully awake yet, haha

Old users pay same price for a year as a loyalty perk. I have over 10k Kms on Zwift in a year and a half..and have spent a small fortune on smart trainer 4K tv and gaming computer..I donít mind the increase it allows me to ride when I could not other wise and I enjoy it very much, itís my go to now instead of riding in the rain or bitter cold, (I live in Canada)itís a better workout for me and a time saver.
Itís increased my FTP from 270ís to 330ís in that time aswell. I love the program and hope the extra charges will go towards making it that much better. 2cents from a bias opinion 🤣

It is rare in this day and age to see a 50% price bump-- I mean, even Netflix does it $2 at a time.

I still contend that if Zwift wants to make real money, they need to sell "passes" alongside the subscriptions. I live in SoCal, and have no need of a monthly subscription to Zwift. I would probably use it 2-3 times a month, and only about 3 months of the year. Say a single-day, "all you can ride" for 99Ę a day. Still outrageously more expensive than a subscription, but I'd be 100% fine with paying a buck to use it for a 24 hour period.

So unless some physical malady befalls me again, I won't be dropping 15 bucks on Zwift like... ever. I got my money's worth out of my 10 bucks back in March-- 500 miles in 22 days-- but I was so happy to get outside again, I didn't even use the last week of the subscription.

Even with all the rain last year, I only subscribed for 2 months. Another approach is to generate a bunch of email addresses...

I just bit the bullet and bought a smart trainer. Oh well will probably only use Zwift for a few cold months so may just have to cough up a few more bucks/month.

Do they say the extra cost goes into more functionality?

The interesting part of the $15/month move is how many users will now cancel during the summer months as opposed to keeping it on auto pay because $10/month for the chance of a rainy weekend isn't so bad. That could make the move backfire. Otherwise, I suspect most users like myself will pay the rate hike.

What else is there? Trainer road - seems like it would be more fun to stick needles in my eye. Road Grand Tours is an interesting beta, but still in development, completely dead from a user perspective and lacking of any gaming aspects (i.e. ride x miles and earn new wheels). The four courses all feature over to well over 100/ft per mile of climbing, not exactly what most people are looking for based on what I see on Zwift.

Zwift has elevated indoor training from pure torture to actual fun (only couple of months use so far). Yes, I'll pay $15...

I'm looking forward to paying $22 a day for trail passes in XC ski paradise next month.

id prefer per-use billing too but subs are much more predictable and consistent income source for the vendor

i paid for half a year of empty use because i was too lazy to cancel

I love the drama people with Cervelos attached to Neos make over having to spend sixty dollars more in a year.

All the people who don't like a 50 % price increase are all riding the same kind of bike? That's crazy! What are the odds?
