Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bread making is my other passion...Using baker's percentages make is easier to chart progress and keep up with what works and what doesn't. And I like math...Do you use sourdough for your bread? I am playing with an Ischia sourdough that I got the last time I was down south. It makes great pizza and maybe better bread...

I’m thinking of getting a garden table of some sort. Nothing too expensive, maybe one of those mosaic topped tables. The oven is not that big but it is nice to have a little work space around it.

I’m thinking I could find something workable at Home Depot or World Market or Home Goods.
I picture YouTube videos of Turkey fryer disasters.

Epic.
My epic 25 miles this morning was sufficient.

We've probably got some baseball on the family schedule this weekend.

You may recall that the witch doctor just moved to another city. I didn't have the direct office number. Instead, I had a phone number to her "group" (even though as far as I can tell she's the only witch doctor in the local bunch).

So yesterday morning I talk to the group receptionist with my straightforward question: "Can I get an alternative to X?"

"I'll pass this along to your nurse and she'll get back to you soon," she says.

I get a call back from someone at the witch doctor's office right before 5 p.m. I have to repeat my whole situation because apparently the message didn't get passed along very well. The person on the other end asks what drug I'm talking about, looks up my "chart," and says it's not there. Apparently it didn't make it from the prescription pad to my records. Facepalm.

Anyway, she says that she'll have to check with the doctor. And being the end of the day, the practice always being closed on Fridays, I won't hear anything on this simple question for four days.

Annoying.
Classic.

I'm pretty impressed with our new group, which has a portal in which to email the doc.

We've been going in circles for weeks about a referral.

I remember eating fried dough with marinara sauce as a kid in the N.Y. metro (ie heavily Italian American) area. At fairs and such.

Picked up the Twin Six t-shirts that I ordered the other day (their office/warehouse is a few miles away). This is the more fun of the two -
