Road bike advice for $2k -- Frame question

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In April, I built a Colnago CX-1 Evo from frameset with brand new mechanical Dura Ace 9100 and a used Dura Ace C24 wheelset for much less. I bought groupset piece-by-piece from various online stores from Europe. Typically, I waited for at least %40 sale and used additional promo discount for a total of $950. However, it took me over two months frequently checking on prices and ordering.

In August, I built a Cipolini RB800 on the cheap. I bought mix used and new parts of Dura Ace 9000 and 9100 from eBay, Craigslist, and Europe online for $650. But it took a couple of weeks to get everything.

For frameset, you can get NOS (new-old-stock) or shop demo for a lot less.

Good luck
