Addmissions of a Convert
Howdy,
I am a fat tire freak from the 80's, my first mtb was a Diamond Back Topanga in 1981.
Last fall I was harrassed into purchasing a skinny tire bike by a bunch of spandex wearing jerseys, well 800 miles later I'M HOOKED, yep I really enjoy riding my road bike. I never in a million years thought I'd be a spandex wearing roadie. I still don't have a jersey yet, I ordered one that should be here in the next few days. I own spandex shorts, open fingered gloves, Oakley glasses and spend 90% of my time on my Raliegh Competition.

Welcome to the club! By the way, regarding your signature, I have to tell you there is no recovery from bikeaholicism. One ride will lead to another, and very soon only more frequent and longer rides will satisfy your thirst for pedaling!

I hope you still have your MTB. I still have mine. Tricked out with fenders and a rack.
It's my favorite commute bike in crappy weather, and you know what, it's still big fun to bike around town
with. My road bike is a princess. she's a great climber, quick and agile, totally fun for 100 mile plus rides,
but you know sometimes it's just a blast to ride the MTB and not worry about, holes, ruts, whatever.

I'm a convert as well. I get upset if I don't get to ride (like now, I've got a bad cold). My mtb has been stripped apart and converted into single speed. I might add a rack so I can ride down to the store and get things.

Howdy,
I use the word "spandex" as a generic term for stretchy tight shorts.
Yes I still ride my Kona Dawg Deelux at times. I live in northern Utah where single tracking is is pretty popular and plenty of mondo mountain trails exist.
Trekke, I've heard of folks doing that, but for me when I'm on my fat tire bike it's baggie shorts and tee shirts.

Welcome! While I still love mountain biking, road cycling has become a much bigger part of my riding.

I noticed.
I have suggested that once a post reaches a certain age (for example 6 months) it should NOT be bumpable except by the OP (or maybe others who have posted in it, but certainly not strangers and/or troublemakers). Unsure if the forums allow for that type of feature.
