Correct rim tape width for H+1 Archetype?

I've invested on a pair of H Plus Son Archetype wheels and have question for the tape to use.

I believe the standard tape width is 16 mm. Since the rim is 17.5 mm, is 16 mm tape a bit narrow for it?
Is there any problem since - just going logically - there will be valleys on both side of the rim 0.75 mm wide if tape is centered on the rim?

Thank you,
Paulo

Are you talking about the old fashioned cloth tape with adhesive? Then IMO, the tape only needs to be wide enough to cover the spoke holes by a single mm on both sides. So 16 mm tape is way too wide, but might work with the shape of that rims cross-section. For the newer things they call tape.... I don't know

How about Velo Plugs instead of the tape?

The important thing is that the nipple holes are covered, it doesn't need to reach all the way from one sidewall to another.

Consider treating yourself to some tubeless rim tape. Being much thinner than Velox, it would make mounting tires a little easier. :thumb:

On one of my bikes, it covers up the holes and hasn't had any effect. Stays in place. Wheels are carbon fiber. The plugs come in different sizes depending on the hole diameter. Cheap enough to buy.
