Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Can't find anything to help gauge the size of the head unit. Anyone have a pic to share? Maybe it's already in the, "what road bike do you have" thread and I missed it. Thanks in advance..

This one (ok, two) puts it side-by-side with the QR. Might help a bit....

Thanks! That second one did help. Doesn't look as large as some reviews led me to believe.

The sending unit is the size of a 7-iron. It's a great idea, but they will have to downsize before I take the plunge.

This might be better. It does look a "little" large . . .

The skewer lever looks no wider or longer than ordinary to me.

The exaggerated depth doesn't bother me b/c of where it ends up. Much less obtrusive than most fork mount senders, IMO.

I use the Mavic WinTec with the cadence setup. I also have Avocets and Cateyes.

The Mavic is my favorite. It's not too large and I really like the front Skewer sending unit.

But do you have a picture of it on the bike?

These look neat, but I have a question for those who have them.

If you fall on the left side, what are the chances of destroying the sender? And what do replacements cost?

I assume not having anything strapped to your fork? The sending unit is in the skewer. I think it's pretty ugly, but that's just me.

The chances of destroying the sender if you crash are probably somewhat low, as the handlebar is going to take the brunt of the damage from the crash.
