One suggestion for his website product shots.. I always like to see a picture of the chamois design. For some reason, a lot of bib makers don't show these.. kinda annoying as the chamois is somewhat important in the scheme of things.

The sizing charts should be worked on. The measurements aren't the whole way around as is usual so it makes it a little harder to size. Also metric. I'm just more used to having my measurements in cm at this point. They look very interesting for sure though.

I thought about this sizing method.. what it does mean I think, is that it's much easier to take another piece of clothing you may already have that fits well, measure it, and pick the matching size from their size chart. Not that all Lycra is necessarily the same stretchiness, but this system could be useful.. Oh.. and scroll down, they also give weight/height guidelines; easy to miss.

With Castelli you never know. Their sizing seems to be all over the place. I love their products but only buy ones I can try on first.

I bought a Craft jacket that was on sale for 60 percent off. Even with the crap euro to dollar rate right now, I ended up well ahead. I may go grab the Castelli too...I know once I leave Italy next year, these opportunities are going to be few and far between. I am retiring in Wisconsin so I will definitely need the cold weather gear...

Inexpensive but not cheap. Low overhead of a small outfit in Virginia. Decent stuff for the price. I have a few that were part of other kits with colored stripes so they were a little bit more. They also do custom work so if you have a club or event they’ll work with you in kits.

Mine arrived yesterday. I haven't had a chance to ride in them yet. They fit a little snug, even though I used the height/weight chart, but they fit. They seem to use heavier fabric than my Baleafs. Not sure I like that, but it's hard to say without riding in them.

After you take a ride, keep us updated. I'd like to know how the pad is. At the price they sell them for, it seems to be a good buy... even though I need a jersey more than bibs.

They have some generic solid color jerseys as well

Not yet. They went in the laundry hamper, so they got queued up behind all the clean Baleaf bib shorts. Maybe this weekend.

keep us informed... nothing like decently priced bibs (and the chamois IS everything)... I'd buy a few if it I knew they would hold up to 150km rides....

Then check out Baleaf bib shorts on Amazon. My size is under $30 right now. I've worn them on multiple 160km rides and they were great. I still don't understand why people spend more on bib shorts.

I went to a couple bike shops in the big city in my prefecture, Nagoya, and I got to browse some of the name brand bike clothes. I was very impressed, and definitely want in to a sort of "want mode".

I actually almost bought a Shimano navy blue jersey for about $80 that I tried on and really liked, but I didn't want to have that argument with my SO. After getting home, I couldn't find the same jersey online, and am regretting not getting it. Oh well, there will be other jerseys for me to look at and also not buy later.

It will be interesting to see how the $13 Aliexpress jersey compares.

I wore them yesterday. I approve of them. The chamois was a little more comfortable than the $30 Baleafs. They are quite snug.

One thing I noticed was the front of the bib comes up to my navel. Makes it harder to use the restroom than the Baleafs, which only come up to my waist.

Thanks for the followup! I actually ordered a pair myself, tried them on, but have not ridden with them yet. They are snug. Also picked up a pair of the Voler Avanti Men's Cycling BibShort for $59. Fits good but haven't ridden in yet either.

I picked up a pair of Sportful Giro bibs at half price, about $45 the other day. I'll try to give them a go on Saturday, weather and wife depending.

Over the last seven years my choice of bibshort has been the Assos T FI Mille, that is until this year when I learned they changed the design. I tried the new design and wasn’t impressed. I don’t care for the wide strap placement and lower cut in the front, uncomfortable for me. Now I’m using the Castelli Premio Bibshort and so far I’m impressed. These feel a lot like the my old Assos with slightly more compression.

As far as jerseys go I don’t spend a lot. I found a 40 dollar jersey works just as well as a 100 dollar plus jersey. Here in Houston where summer temperatures typically get in the triple digits there’s no wonder fabric that can wick the moisture away.

Just got my $13 jersy from aliexpress, and it's not bad. The zipper isn't great, and the small details aren't great, but for the price it's pretty damn good I think. Definitely the $75 name brand jersey I got is nicer, but we will see how they perform when I'm on the bike.

FWIW, the expensive jersey is better looking on me, but I got to choose that one in the shop.

I have yet to hear anyone mention Nalini products. Does anyone have comments on the bibs, good or bad. I have been looking at some and considering trying them.

I've got a pair of tights from them.. not a fan of the chamois, too padded and bulky and really feels like I'm in a diaper. That said, it could easily just be the model I have and not reflective of their other models -- chamois are different in every brand from year to year, and model to model. From construction standpoint of the rest of the tight, it's very nicely made.
