Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My birthday is coming up soon, and I figure I might as well ask for useful stuff for my bike.

So far I have:
A Bike.
A U-Lock.

What are some useful things that I could get?

Wow... where to start? Here's a few general suggestions off the top of my head...
  • Consumable components (tyres, innertubes, chain, cassette, chainrings)
  • Lights
  • Tools for repair
  • Pump/inflator
  • Bags
  • Upgrade components (wheelsets, cranks, handlebar, saddle, derailleurs, etc...)
  • And of course don't forget clothing for yourself

You could also hop on over to say the Performance website and start making a shopping list.
