My birthday is coming up soon, and I figure I might as well ask for useful stuff for my bike.

Wow... where to start? Here's a few general suggestions off the top of my head...
You could also hop on over to say the Performance website and start making a shopping list.
- Consumable components (tyres, innertubes, chain, cassette, chainrings)
- Lights
- Tools for repair
- Pump/inflator
- Bags
- Upgrade components (wheelsets, cranks, handlebar, saddle, derailleurs, etc...)
- And of course don't forget clothing for yourself
