Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Having a beer and wings at RIC while the family hangs out near the gate. Unfortunately, the TV in front of me is tuned in to cnn, souring the mood a bit. Damn P&R.

Yesterday morning I was doing a nice stretching/foam rolling/yoga session before work. Peaceful and chill.

Mr H got up and turned on the morning news. My blood pressure rose 50 points probably. Ugh.

The news needs to be reported, it’s a real public service. But 24 hours news has changed everything, stories have to SHOUT to be heard. So: constant drama. Made worse when there actually IS constant drama.

TV background noise is the worst, regardless of the program.

I take that back. ESPN background noise is unbearable.

Three cases above. No punctuation and no editing gives lower case. Punctuation capirslizes the first letter. Editing will allow full capitalization.

You are welcome.

I set my riding distance PR twice. The current-longest is 80 miles, and came on the second day of the Easter Hill Country Bike Tour in Kerrville. The first day of it was 65 miles, which was nearly the longest. And I spent both days playing domestique and draft horse for AG and her friends. So, that was tiring.

Oh, and I went and rode at COTA four times. That was excellent.

Sunday is Galveston 70.3. Yay. AG is racing the full thing; I was going to spectate and photograph but got roped into doing the run of a relay, so that's happening.

Kudos on the riding and PR for distance. There's no coasting when running which makes runners strong cyclists, in my experience. Good to hear you are riding again. Good luck in Galveston.
