Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nice day for us too. We did not sink. I had a nice easy ride. Stretching and yoga on the passage home. Dogz were good girls.

Indeed. It was fun, I did too much work, and it was fun. Time to get smart. I can race with those guys, but no way can anyone brute force them. They'll about go backwards rather than be on the front. Confusing, and I learned my lesson.

Results were boogered up, so they redid them, and after that, I wasn't in the results. I have a camera, and I told them exactly where I think I finished, so we'll see. I think 10th, so at least the top half of the field on a tough little course.

Nice. Nice easy day sounds good. Not sinking is always a plus.

Crit was yesterday, second best 45 minute power numbers ever.... 3x15 today, which were very hard.

Going to be interesting the next day or two.

Same here, it's all melting. Forecast is a wet week, which means the "Brandywine Valley Roubaix" I plan to ride on Sunday may be muddy. My hope is I am feeling better enough by then to ride it hard.

Today is supposed to be the nicest day of the week and I'll be at the bike shop for nine hours of it.

Ugh.

So we're visiting the in-laws as the FIL goes through chemo for cancer that was diagnosed during our last visit.

Today, as the wife and I were making a trip to the grocery store, we saw a little dog wandering the neighborhood for an hour plus. We asked the FIL about it and he said that it was the neighbor's, but they were out of town. He thought that it would be a good idea to catch it since it had escaped. With the little interaction that I'd had with the dog, I advised leaving it alone. FIL didn't listen. FIL is now getting stitches.

Ugh.
