Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Brutal loss for MS State. They had a five-point lead under two minutes and then stole the ball ~10 seconds left in a tie game. Only to lose.

Crohn's is on the list of possibilities but less likely since it's already a bit better with just time. Still possible and definitely something to avoid!

Guy who used to go to my church is up in PA hiking on or near the AT. Got stuck in a reported snow storm.

That sounds extra dumb.

I like wrenching when it comes to upgrading bits, but boring maintenance is boring.

At one time yesterday, 4 of the 5 bridges across the Illinois River in Peoria were closed due to accidents. I don’t ever recall that happening before.

My hope is to finally overhaul that hub, in order to complete the gravel bike. If the force is with me, I might also begin tuning up the travel bike. Huh? I'm a poet!

And, in the past 6 months or so, every time I go to Merida, I see at least one accident. It used to be one or two per year. I think I can safely chalk it up to inattention.

Up to about 70F this afternoon. I do not own, nor do I desire, a snow shovel.

It's all frustrating, uninteresting, and dumb.

Finally got a message back from the witch doctor. That being that there's no alternative to the non-covered drug. Maybe I should buy from Canada?

Well, the internets say otherwise. Facepalm.

They say you should not buy from Canada? Or that there is more than one way to skin a cat? There is a strong possibility that whatever you need can be purchased over the counter here. The only things I've seen resistance with are antibiotics and things like Xanax. Perhaps it's time for a little trip to Cancun.

On the message the nurse said to give them a call if I want to try to buy from Canada, where it's cheaper.

I didn't know U.S. doctors generally do this.

At any rate, I read that hydroxychloroquine and sulfasalazine are used to treat this condition. I'm pretty sure the insurance would cover those. I've taken both before, in failed bids to control RA.

Is this worth pointing out to the witch doctor, @datlas?

I think colchicine is a GREAT medicine and it used to be pennies per pill. Then the stupid feds pulled the plug on it because it was too "old fashioned" and insisted it be withdrawn from the market, and only reapproved it after a company did some studies to show it was effective. As a result, the cheap generic makers no longer sell it in the usa.

I would get it from Canada.
