skewer for trainer for road bike with disc brakes

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

skewer for trainer for road bike with disc brakes

I need to find a skewer for my Minoura Mag500 trainer to fit a roadbike with disc brakes as the normal skewer is too short - can you advise.
The skewer for my road bike shows size is 142x12 (174 mm)

You're not looking for a skewer, you're looking for a trainer thru-axle. Kurt Kinetic makes them for their trainers, I would imagine that other trainer manufacturers would have them, as well. If not, maybe the KK (or one from another manufacturer) would interface with your trainer.
