Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's hard to say with exposure, white balance, etc, but I don't think that it's Celeste, either - I think that it's a play on Gulf Racing colors.

...and that Allez looks like none of ‘em.

Even in real life.

I saw that guy out for a spin as I was riding to a stage finish of the '95 Giro. The finish was at the Bianchi factory. Pantani had gotten injured in training and was sitting out the race to get healthy for the TdF. He was with "El Diavolo" et al. on the Carraera team back then. Pretty darn exciting.

If immediately worked, I'd be riding the Celeste now.

As it is, I have the cookie cutter for a loaner, and the Celeste is on order.

Specialized has a color now called "Acid Mint". If you google it you'll see how close it is to Celeste, if a bit darker, more intense.

Oddly, I'd say that's paler and less saturated or rich than Celeste.

If you like the black matte, roll with it. Extra $ for accessories

I would not worry about getting the color you want-- I bought a new Celeste Bianchi and never felt a bit funny about it but it was just a steel triple Vigorelli so... not what anyone would think of as a big buck show-off bike. At one time I thought I wanted an orange bike but took action on it and I don't like the look of them now. I still think the Celeste color looks okay but I now kind'a like the satin black...

Bianchi USA used to sell the Celeste side wall Vittorias reasonably priced and I rode those for years when I had my Bianchi but lately they have been harder to find.

I'm late to the party... new to the forum.

I was lucky to get the last 2017 last September from my local shop.
She's my first Bianchi, so it had to be celeste.
I've updated to Ultegra R8000 (52/36 with 11-32 cassette), custom fizik saddle and red Dura Ace cables.

Enjoy the ride!

Actually a proper Bianchi not only needs to be Celeste, it needs to be Campy equipped.:

Were the carbon frames not made in Asia, I would definitely agree!

If/when I get a used steel (Celeste) Bianchi, it will be equipped in the proper, Italian, manner! :-)

Being a firm lover of Dura Ace (for myself, could never justify for anyone else) ... If I were to own a Bianchi - it'd be Celeste and Campy equipped... all part of the grand experience in my opinion.

Here's the Intrepida 105 marketing...

MSRP: $2,000.00

For the love of the ride, the sun on your face or a shared mid-ride coffee is a few examples of why cycling is a lifelong sport. Your entry to the sport should make a statement. One that says you love a 135 year old, deeply rooted story about a historic bicycle paint color and a little Italian named Fausto Coppi who raced against the odds of war, the peloton- through the hills of the Italy, winning the Giro d’Italia five times.

Your passion for the ride continues on in the Bianchi Intrepida. The Intrepda is a monocoque carbon fiber endurance road bike that keeps your rides fast, fun, and competitive while not breaking your bank account...
