Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Why would “most cyclists with SIDI shoes” care about a timepiece?

Cuz we fancy, that's why. And that's a nice looking watch, but I'm guessing I have no interest in buying it based on the rest of the dude's purchases.

Reynold's wheels though? A little piece of me just died.

I like watches, but I think that that watch is (aesthetically) horrendous. Large, confusing and, most of all, confused. Maybe it's a horological masterpiece under the hood, but I've seen Invictas that are more subtle and cohesive.

I have a few watches, but that one is nothing special. I'd be willing to bet that my phone keeps time more accurately.

Watches and premium lenses are a good investment. Bikes and exotic wheels, not so much.

This timepiece? Not sure. Like I said, I find it horrendous and confused, so I can't exactly elaborate on why it would appeal to a buyer. It's a statement piece, obviously, but it's not a statement in a language that I speak. As is the case with mechanical watches in general, though. people don't buy them for atomic clock accuracy, hence my, "of course, but that's not the point."

Mechanical watches haven't been primary devices for time accuracy for a very long time. Nowadays, they serve primarily as jewelry and/or status symbols particularly for men.

"There's no accounting for taste", and "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I think RR builds some of the ugliest cars ever made.

Where's the Rapha stuff? Everyone knows that Rapha says "I may not ride a lot, but I have money". Top of the line bikes don't even say that! Rapha is "serious bling" for cyclists with more money than talent.

Can't buy taste..... To quote Jay Leno "more money than brains..."
"Limited Edition" is nothing fancy or exclusive. Just marketing.

Cost be damned ultimate cool/bling cycling shoes? Rocket 7 , Hanseeno, Simmons....
