Drop bars with wider drops
Hello everyone,
I'm looking for drop bars that are wider at the drops than at the tops by a couple millimeters for sprinting. I know the ENVE bars and some of the 3T ergo bars are set up that way, but I'd like to know what other options there are out there. I don't want an extreme flare like some trekking and gravel racing bars, just something small that would help me keep from knocking my forearms on the tops when I sprint, and help me get a little narrower when on the tops. Thanks! |

Bontrager has flared bars, too - look for an F in the alphabet soup tacked on to the name. I have RXL (Race X Lite) IsoZone VR-CF (Variable Radius, Compact Flare).

Don't most bars have some flare? ie. more the rule than the exception. By only a couple mm though? Typically a flared bar will often be eg. 42cm at the hood, 44mm at the bar ends.. ie. 1cm of flare per side is more common.
From FSA, their Energy, SL-K and K-Force road bars all seem to have some flare. |

I have had this set of bars on for about 1000 miles. Easton EC70 AX Carbon Road Handlebar. The price was outstanding for a carbon bar. And it is oh so nice. I will be putting a set on my other bikes.

I have a set of drops laying around somewhere that flare more than generally stated above. I think they are by Salsa and were designed for cross racing. I never liked them that much, which is why they are laying around somewhere..
