Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Very nice. I got a set of matte ones. they really make the litespeed look sharp. I think I'm too heavy for them so probably will only use them for events rather than all the time to train on.

When you get to ten posts, put up a picture if you don't mind. I'd like to compare finishes on them.

Will do.

Oh and question...my front wheel makes a weird sound and I'm not sure if it's just the way these carbon wheels are. These are my first carbon wheels I ever rode on. I think the front hub is fine because on the stand they seem to roll smooth and silent. When hammering a bit I notice almost like a constant whoosh type sound in the front. I wonder if it's a wind noise, or just road noise.

Could be the sound of carbon if it is new and unusual to you. When I first rode on my Zipp 404s they were my first carbon wheel and it took a while to get used to the song. These Superteams have a sound to them as well but also roll silent on the stand.

Great looking Propel!

I just scored the red and white version of that frame for the cost of a fancy dinner that needs a simple (mostly precautionary) top tube repair. I'm looking to build it up, somewhat, on a budget for kicks.

Nice first impressions on the Superteams! I have been curious about them for some time, for the money and the positive feedback out there dating several years now they seem like no brainers so long as you are not a brand snob and dont mind the stickers. Those weave ones look sick!!

I love the red and white Propels! Definitely send some pictures or post up with the progress.

Just as an FYI, I ordered mine from Kingbike888 and had the option of different stickers or no stickers at all and several different weave and finish options.

Ok so coming from the ksyirum SLs that were on the bike that was sold to cover the cost of these, I find the ride is very good...bumps and stuff seem a lot less harsh...I think the mix of aluminum wheels and the stiff titanium frame made the ride extremely rough. But these wheels with the oversized deda carbon bars, and ti fabric saddle has done wonders for comfort. It's a whole new bike with these additions actually. Not sure if I'll ever own another set of aluminum wheels. The cross winds was something I had to get use to though and the sound of the wheels but I kind of like the sound now. These are not the 38s like the OP, they are the unbranded 50s in matte. From the same seller, QueenBike I think it was on amazon. I did put swisstop pads on and found them to be better than the pads that came with the bike.

Good looking bike. I'm waiting on a Fabric saddle to come in the mail so I can give one a shot. Heard a lot of good things and I'm very tired of trying saddles to no avail.

I'm considering a 50mm set in UD matte for my next set. The other Propel is a UD matte finish so it would match nicely.

765 mile update. Still going smooth and true. I'm gaining confidence in them and have bombed some 50mph descents with only a little fear of dying in the back of my mind. I've also nailed a few hidden potholes at decent speed. Enough to rattle the body but so far so good on the Superteam. Brake track still looking fresh, finish is still perfect. No noises have developed. 50k feet of climbing on them so far and some really rough patch job roads.

Not the best picture, but I have the matte/black superteams in 50mm. As many have said here, I have about 1000 miles on them with no issues so far on nasty PA roads. I came from aluminum wheels so I don't have a comparison to higher end carbon wheels ... but for a work horse road bike, these have been great so far.

Nice TCR! I am almost 100% going to get a set of 50mm down the road when it's in the budget, and probably matte finish as well.

Past the 1000 mile mark. I'll stop updating so often now. This bike made the vacation trip but only time for one 37 mile, extremely flat ride. Wheels are still true, still rolling well. One major test I had since the last update was a two mile downhill with some sharp turns after a downpour. The brake pads are stock Giant carbon pads and both components performed decent but with usual diminished performance from that type of wet condition.

2000 mile/103k elev update. Still rolling straight, true, and smooth. One stint of gravel rail trail, one scary steep descent with a stop sign at the bottom that forced hard braking and resulted in the first instance of brake squeal.

A winter has passed, have you ridden them much since the last update? Curious how the bearings are holding up in addition to the brake tracks if you rode them over winter at all

I can’t wrap my head around 11 months to ride 1000 miles.

I've ridden them some so far this spring but not much over the winter months. I work from dark to dark during the short days and I'm not much on cold weather for night rides. So far so good though. Bearings are still pretty smooth, and they are still true. Brake tracks look good and show very little wear.

OK I was curious so I checked strava...I've actually got 10,768' of climbing over 1258 miles. Keep in mind 4,000' of climbing came on 1 ride in Michigan though haha.

I haven't ridden over 40 miles so far this year and I'm at 67,000 ft of elevation. Helps when your commute has a different category 4 climb in both directions

A 1000 mile review is nice as an initial impression, but that’s all it is.
