Help with gears?

I bought a 2011 womens fuji 3.0 and when i was riding I jacked up the gears.
I cant get the gears out of the highest setting, im sure it's an easy fix but i can't figure it out.

Probably your limit screws need adjusting, though more information about *how* you "jacked up the gears" would certainly help.

Shifting to an easier gear in the back is achieved by pushing the entire brake lever inwards towards the middle of the handlebars while you pedal.

Which fuji? Finest? Newest?

Which shifters do you have on your bike? Maybe find a video on youtube on how to operate them, it might just be an awareness issue.

One thought for you, if you have a performance bike shop nearby - they have beginner rides on Saturdays and it's a near certainty they'd be happy to give you personalized tips and assistance.

Is it only the rear? A broken shift cable will prevent the chain from getting out of the hardest gear in the back. If pushing both levers on the right (as mentioned by f4rrest) does nothing, that would be my guess. Easy and quick fix for a mechanic.
