Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Or I could just say than AG won the dman thing. And then said "...but my power wasn't that high". As if power is the primary concern on the bike, let alone a tri, as opposed to winning the whole dman thing by 8 minutes on a 2:20 effort.

I am an underachiever.
Nicely done by both of you.

A 3 mile run afterwards is lunacy, but that's just me talking.

Thanks. And for the record, I agree - she asked if I wanted to come with. I was shuffling around the awards and food area at that point. The race director joked about asking the male winner to do another 3-mile lap because he was 11 seconds off of two hours; that guy just laughed and shook his head. AG though? She already had done it. Because she's a lunatic and amazing.

35 mile race, 5000 feet of climbing. I set pb 90 minute, 10 minute, 3 minute, and still sucked. No more hills for me this year. Nowhere near last, but enough is enough. I'll leave Mount Evans for the waifs.

Of course, the worst part of the day was riding back to the truck. There was 1400 feet of climbing on the way back, and I thought I was going to crap out.
