Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

1:40 isn't much in a 30-mile ride. That's within the wind factor.

Got to slog through a 10-mile stage home. After that, I'm looking forward to some salad.

It's 50 miles to my nearest WF, that's 5 gallons of gas at $3/gallon . . . . . . I'd have to buy a lot of salmon to make the trip worthwhile.

I just tried several gps-involved apps on my retired iPhone 4 and none sprang to life.

What's the price on the salmon, anyway?

I think it's $14/lb. It started at $40 when they first got it in.

A couple of weeks ago Central Market had Copper River salmon for $80/lb.

My old Garmin edge 305 runs for days still.

Maybe you could pick one up on eBay for the event.

Yankees up 6 nothing against the Red Sox in the bottom of the second inning. The board should light up soon since this game will probably no longer hold anyone's interest.

Congrats to all for their weekend accomplishments, bike related or not.

I had a busy weekend, too:

I painted our entitre house. Ok, not really but I did write the check.
Overhauled our tandem. Ok, not really but I did write the check.
Took a rest day which I did successfully complete.

This past season. Wanted to be the superstar of his own team. Ego.

Durant said screw that, I like rings and trophies.

I'm painting Mom's house. Two rooms down so far! I should be done in about a year. I did have to do a lot of drywall work in said rooms, so hopefully some of the other rooms will go faster.

I'd kill for petrol that cheap. The last time I put petrol in the car it was $2.37/litre for 95 Octane. And $2.27/litre for 91.
