So I had a good week for overall ride time, got in a bit over 11 hours and about 190 miles. I came here to gloat about being on top of the Addiction leaderboard, but some guy named Jeff in NY is ahead of me by a few miles. Damn. The good news is I'm down about 11 pounds from February/March and apparently am putting out enough power that I pulled a spoke through the hub flange on my FRONT wheel today while getting out of the saddle to sprint around my buddy. Took the easy route home at a reduced pace. Oh well, those Vueltas had a good 7 year run.

So in a continuation from yesterday's discussion, and to help out this biker chic person, Strava will allow you to map your route and track speed, distance, climbing and all that regular stuff, right? These regular features aren't battery hogs, are they? The "beacon" feature is probably what chews up all the battery life, am I right?

Hi All!
I've signed myself up to do the 400 mile Erie Canal Ride and I'm interested in recording and sharing the ride. I know there are GPS bike computers, but I'm not interested in elevation, pace and heart rate and all that. Just the route interests me. Is there a basic bike GPS that records, saves and shares this? Also, I don't want to spend a ton of money.

When you get to your destination, charge the old phone again and then use wifi to upload the ride.

1) I did not die - good
2) I haven't had to take an nap - yet
3) I can't sustain much power but I did 4 passes at segments that I created and was able to do well on 2 out of 4 the other 2 were pretty bad.
4) Initially, before seeing the data on Garmin I was pretty defeated but I think there is hope for my 30 mile August 11th benchmark fitness test when I go up north. I have 5 weeks to follow the @Velo Vol mantra and HTFU. Thankfully the trip North was pushed back because of work by three weeks.
I think I am officially off the DL!
Get better VV, I don't want any excuses when I come up to your backyard in September. I am at a 30 pound weight disadvantage but only 10 of that is my ego.

I also set a new HR max of 184 then I did 185. What's up with that? Lack of fitness?

So I could talk about my race this morning. Getting third OA on the old S1 is not bad (and sixth-fastest bike split). Especially not on a day I wasn't intending to kill the bike anyway and was riding to my 70.3 power and running a 6:55 pace 10k for the third-fastest run split on a day when the sun came out on the humidity and I'm pretty sure */% numbers would be argument-inducing.
Or I could just say than AG won the dman thing. And then said "...but my power wasn't that high". As if power is the primary concern on the bike, let alone a tri, as opposed to winning the whole dman thing by 8 minutes on a 2:20 effort.
I am an underachiever.

Oh and THEN she went and ran another three miles because that's what her coach had said.

Congrats @Bah Humbug but you should explain your terminology to us non triathletes. What is OA?
Congrats to AG.
Hey that @f4rrest guy is always thinking
Delicous lunch: grilled peanut butter and banana on brioche. Used chocolate peanut butter. This is why I am too fat for this sport

I guess this is an even-steven Seinfeld thing because DougRNS is back to hard efforts. I dipped my toe back into the world of anaerobic, lactic acid riding with mixed results.
