What kind of crankset do you have? You can often use the ones with the big single bolt (SRAMs and FSAs, etc) to press the bearings back in to the frame, if you're careful. I wouldn't try it with something like the plastic Shimano preload nut, though.

Since you need to take it to a shop at some point, try spraying the outside of both sides of the BB with something like Tri-Flow and see if that stops the squeaking. I've had it work for a while until I replaced bearings.

TBD. I'd imagine I should, but I'm all about working around problems until they cause me to wreck by seizing at high speed.

So my cycling mate (he is from Oz, so he really is a mate) has a shoulder separation, 3 non displaced rib fractures, and one thoracic vertebral compression fracture. I believe all these will heal with time. They want to keep him in the hospital overnight for observation and to get his pain controlled.

J/K - best wishes on your mate's recovery .

Gotcha, I've never had an external BB (that sound you hear is Seed's head exploding) so I'm not familiar with best practice on replacing just bearings vs the whole shootin' match.

Well, how many? And did you stop at a WaWa for more?
That's right. Your flora can change over time, due to diet, but especially antibiotics.
Can the genes in your organs change? I don't know. Maybe, but not nearly as easily, from my crude understanding of biology.
If you have little more confidence that a drug the doctor is giving you will work than if she ground up her garden weeds and made a concoction out of it, then you're in witch doctor territory.
It feels good.
I could be wrong and someone like @datlas might know more, but I believe the only good evidence for fecal transplantation comes from cases where normal flora are wiped out by antibiotics and bad players have taken over.
WIth all due respect, I also believe the statement that the microbiome is a separate entity from the inherited environment is incorrect. Gut and skin microbiomes have well recognized genetic determinants.

I don't have a waste disposal issue so it's not needed.
But I do have an interest in gut bacteria because there's a good chance it's somehow linked to RA. So every now and then I read a bit about it or watch a YouTube to see if they're making headway in research. Medical science might make real headway on a number of ailments if they can ever figure out what in your gut effects your immune system.
But sadly, this will probably not happen for years.
