Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Went for an overnight tramp. We took the slightly longer way into the hut. It took about 5 hours to get in, up and over a 1043m hill and down a at times very steep ridge. It was a nice hut and was nice and toasty. We managed to walk out in 4 1/4 hours as we took a slightly different route that went down a steep ridge. Hills are hard with a full overnight pack on.

Through the wonder of mobile devices, I’m still in bed... and disoriented.

Third sip of coffee done.

Time to dump it before it's too late.
