What to upgrade first on Allez Sport?
Hey all, just got a new allez sport. I am planning to first upgrade the groupsets to 105 r7000, but have no idea where to go from there. Any insights?

Since you have a 9 speed Sora group you first might want to see if your rear hub is 11 speed compatible. If there is no spacer behind your cassette then it probably isn't. In which case you would want to upgrade your wheels first.

Why bother with upgrading? Why not just get a bike that already has the upgrades?
Are you going to pay someone to strip everything and rebuild it? Because if so, you're going to very likely spend way more on all of that than you'd spend just going out and buying a 105 equipped bike straight away.

Like Rubi said, it's cheaper to buy a bike that already has 105 on it than to upgrade.

I don't think "buy a new bike" is what he's looking for. Especially since he just bought a new bike. Most people here mod their bikes, it's part of the hobby.

Then all the other parts?
I don't get the deal, here.
I still wouldn't bother. I'd just ride the bike you have and get a 105 bike later. At worst, the one you have will last you until you ride the wheels off. Or later on you'll have a good back up bike.

You're good then, just get the group. R7000 came out this week. I'm probably going to get the hydro version before too long.
Not a bad price.

in order to do that, you need to first ride it to know what you like and dislike.
saddle, bar width and reach, stem reach and angle, etc etc etc.
changing these things means knowing what needs to change first.
getting new bars doesnt make sense if the current ones fit.
as for your specific goal- once you change it over to a full 105 drivetrain, there isnt much more to do. All thats really left is the cockpit- saddle, bars, stem, seatpost.

even of it isn't a financially good decision, this is a hobby and saving a buck often plays a secondary role when making decisions.
most of my bikes have been built on the cheap as i enjoy the challenge of making something that works great and is solid performing for not much $.
a couple of my bikes were built for more than i could have bought from retail because i enjoyed selecting each component.
Cost is important sometimes and not other times.
