Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Northwave Extreme XC

hi to all,
since a few months i have a pair of Northwave Extreme XC's. Beautiful, stiff etc. no complaints there. But they are hurting my feet after an hour or so (i am using them on my road bike).
So my question is: can i make the upper material a bit softer ? would it help if i put them in the oven?
i tried the oven variant...since i dont want to ruin them, i started with 10min at 70Celsius.

For me this is the dilemma with MTB shoes for road use, MTB shoes allow you to walk "normal" but are (too) hard on the foot. Also open for tips for replacement (Fizik X5 Terra ?)
thanks for your feedback
