My Kask Mojito is the best helmet I've ever owned and the best of the bunch of my current helmet collection.
It looks good, fits incredibly comfortably and snugly, and has perfect venting. It's easy to put on and take off, and the foam pads are replaceable.

Having worked in a bike shop for the past 35 years I have had the opportunity to own a lot of helmets (got them near cost) because I replace them very often. I can say I don't like wearing a helmet. Period. Just don't like it. The lighter the helmet the better for me. I currently use the Cannondale Cypher. Got it last year to replace a Specialized SWorks. The Cypher is more comfortable as I don't feel it on my head as much. Ventilation is the same. The SWorks is expensive, the Cypher about $100 less, and I like it better. Goes to show ya that price doesn't always mean better for everyone.

Mine had MIPS. I crashed at 18mph 3 weeks after getting it and cracked the shell.After gathering my whits, i was able to ride home. The next day I bought another and Giro gave me a 40% crash replacement discount.
It's been 3 years and I still love it.

I have a small head. The helmets I owned never really fit all that well. But I didn't discover that they were a poor fit until I bought my last helmet which fit really well! Loosen up that rear helmet holder and put the helmet on your head. It should be snuggish and not move around on your head. Then you tighten the rear thing down (if it has one). I had a jerk in one of the LBS try to sell me one that was way too big. I got pissed enough and told him that it was too big and that he should go out and buy size 14 shoes and just tie them really tight to "make them fit". Also remember that the chin strap should be
I also prefer helmets without pointy things. Round shaped helmets are less likely to get caught on things and rotate your head.
From what I've read, it's not clear if MIPs is more hype than more safety. But there are lots of them on the market and the price difference is not too substantial.

I love my LG Course. It's "aero" (no idea if it really is) because of lots of lengthwise channels for air between lengthwise ribs, which makes it very well-vented. I haven't crashed it, thankfully, but my old LG Avant was my first helmet and it probably did protect me from a TBI, so I feel good about LG helmets in general.

I have the Mojito and the Cdale Cypher. Honestly, though it's cheaper, the Cypher is more comfy, better fitting, and 30 grams lighter. It may be the best $100 helmet available. The only issue I have really with the Mojito is the inability to adjust where the straps come together under the ear.

Sorry to interject, newbie here. I'm actually trying to get my first helmet. In the process of getting my first brand new bike. 2019 FX3. Local shop offered me the Bontrager Quantum MIPS helmet for half off. Any thoughts? Can't find much info, and I dont know if I need or want to get one at that price..retail 110.. my price after credit would be round 60. Basically giving me a $50 store credit. Just can't figure if I should look elsewhere for helmet (imagine LBS prices are the most expensive) and us the store credit towards something else or a different helmet for that matter. New to all this so any help is much appreciated! Researching all the above listed helmets right now to compare as much as I can. .

Got the Kask Protone, loves the fit! Little bit expensive but worth imo.

Tomorrow will be 5 years to day that I loved my helmet. Crashed...broke my neck...did not go unconscious or get a concussion. Specialized helmet was toast.

I have a couple Giro helments and like them for their fit....but one thing I am becoming more picky about is how the STRAPS lay against your face. I've been trying to find a helmet that has a "triangular" strap so that the straps are perfectly flat and not at the weird twist.

Rudy Sterling saved my head in a big big crash. Cracked but I did loose consciousness nor did I get a concussion. Replaced with another Sterling.
For commuting I use Bolle The One Road Ultimate.

I wore Giro helmets for years then, with the shift to MIPS, they no longer fit me well or ventilated as well. I went to a Kask Protone. The fit is perfect -- luxurious, even. And the ventilation is excellent. Very comfortable.
I have tried Giro helmets in the meantime and they just don't work for me. (I own and use an Aerohead for the TT bike. I figure I can tolerate the discomfort in exchange for the aero benefits -- and most TTs are less than an hour, anyway.)

I like my Smith Overtake with MIPS. I've had bees come thru the vents on other helmets, and the Smith has a honey comb plastic liner that keeps the critters out, but passes air very well. Might be my coolest helmet. I haven't crash tested it yet, hope not to. I did get hit by a car while wearing a cheap Costco Bell. My head bounced off the pavement at least 3 times, no injury, except to my destroyed Bianchi, and skinned extremities. I later faceplanted wearing a Specialized Echelon a few years ago, the helmet looks undamaged except for blood stains, but I got a concussion. I am still alive, so I guess the helmet did its job. I also have a Specialized Propero that I like very much, light and cool, but has not been crash tested.
