A couple of weeks ago. A friend was coming over to test ride bikes, and I didn't want them to look bad. They were in pretty good shape - the steel bike had gotten a good washing recently and the rims polished up when the tires got replace a week or so prior, but the Helium needed a bit of scrubbing; it was starting to look dingy with smudges, and the matte paint doesn't just wipe clean.

I used to put the frame in the shower, but I've found lately that it doesn't really need the flowing water, and it's actually a lot easier to clean when held up on a stand.

I don't exactly keep the bikes clean, but they don't get super dirty - I just won't take them to an event or group ride if they aren't presentable. If a bike has gotten dirty, it might get neglected for a while.

I'm washing mine about once a week or so. So much dirt and sweat this time of year.

My oily, glabrous, semitic, scalp produces so much corrosive biocoolant this time of year that the steel relic I work out on needs a quick hose-off after each ride. My sweat has found the microscopic chips on at least three paint jobs and ruined them along with drawers of steel hardware. These days, I buy my metric bolts at marine supply stores.

Wash it down with a hose or bucket of water? Only a few times a year.
But I baby wipe the sweat off my handlebar tape and I baby wipe my brake pads and rims, about once a week.
It takes less than 90 seconds.

A glass washing "wand" with a sponge head makes it easy to get in the nooks and crannies without scratching the finish.

I don't know that I've ever washed mine. But I give it a quick moist wipe down when I hang it up after just about every ride.

I clean bikes (mine & my gf's) about twice a month.

I think i washed a bike in 1996 or so. But that was also the last time i washed a bike. I usually just wipe them down every 6 months or so.

It gets 'wash' when rained on while riding. Beside that, only wipes down.

The cross bike got a full wash on Friday. Thursday I took it out on the fire trails and access roads, and while 99% of it was dusty and bone dry, there were random places where water was just bubbling up out of the ground. Ride through the sludge, then all of the sand and dust sticks to it. I also dumped the bike once in some sugary sand. So the bike was disgusting, and far beyond the "just wipe it down" state. It had chunks on it.

The road bike hasn't been washed since the last time I got caught out in the rain, which was back in... May?

After yesterday's gravel ride, hosed her off but things are still pretty caked on. Pulled the chain for a redip in wax since it got some water in it but I'll keep riding her dirty.

After every ride. I can't afford to replace pre-worn parts. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

The road bike gets washed somewhere around once a month. Use a spray bottle with water and just a little dishwashing soap. Wipe it down with a microfiber towel and call it good.

The MTB only gets hosed off when it gets muddy, which is hardly ever.

I spray mine down almost everyday before going for a ride. The area around the water bottles tends to get a little sticky.

I don't "wash" my bike, I lick it clean after every ride. Like a mother cat.

I wipe mine down, with a damp cloth, when ever on the maintenance stand or cleaning chain. During the winter, damp cloth wipe down, followed by wax. KB.
