Goes with me every single day, regardless of ride length. Saddle bags are for tire goods and emergency spares. The roll caddy is for money, sunblock, chapstick, minitool, etc.
The Silca stuff is awfully nice, but far too rich for my blood.
Edit: In before some luddite mentions the words "ziploc bag." Which is utterly inevitable.

They remind me of those cosmetic travel zip pouches that women carry. Probably a cheap route to entry.. but not as cheap as a ziploc.

I have that Silca and as much as I like it, ain't no way all that stuff fits in there. . .I keep my phone, some cash/cards and a small baggie with Advil, nuun tabs.

I made this some years ago to fit in jersey pocket.
It worked well, then someone wanted badly, & I sold it.
Now I put the phone in a neoprene glasses bag which is nicely waterproof, & basic ziplock for $ etc.

My medium sized seat bag holds a tube, mini-pump, 2 tire levers and a small patch kit. One jersey pocket holds my cell phone and cash. Why do I need this?

I like a 'wallet' over a seat bag most days. I have the GCN essentials bag and it works very well for my needs:
- inflator
- two CO2 carts
- tube
- tire boot and patch kit
- simple multi tool (w/o chain break)
I've also used the Waterfield Club Cycling pouch; it's very roomy and fits in a jersey pocket.
I also have Pactimo carryall that will carry my essentials.
Lastly, I have a Chums Tech wallet that I strap to the underside of the seat on my retro-Merckx. If I want I can stick it in my jersey pocket.
I 'get' the Ziplock bag idea but they do wear out. I like using my jersey pockets because I prefer the bikes without seatpacks and it's easy to carry a pouch/wallet on different bikes without having separate seatpacks for each bike. YMMV
