Alternative to Ride with GPS

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Alternative to Ride with GPS

Ride with GPS recently moved the ability to add points of interest to paid subscriptions only. I used this feature a but but an not sure I want to pay for it.

Is there an alternative to Ride with GPS that works as well or nearly as well?

Driving around in your car with a pen and paper? As a RwGPS user .... I wish I could suggest something.

I used to do MapMyRide about 30 million years ago ... don't know if they still exist, or what they might offer. I had to quit riding back then ... Not may good deals on bikes if you are a megatherium.

MapMyRide still exists, it was bought by UA. I don't know what features it offers.

This is an area I need to learn about, and I'm sad that I can't offer a useful suggestion.

I assume this is for a Polar unit? (Not sure if it matters.)

What's a yearly sub cost? Less than (1) Castelli Gabba jersey?
