'05 Fuji Roubaix. Fire Red, no pics. Got it for 700, new. 105 drivetrain, rides pretty nice. Sweet deal for the price, although if I had to pay full price I would have purchased an Allez Elite instead. The carbon seatstays are nice, and the frame is acceptably light. It's my first road bike so I don't know what to expect in terms of road feel, but it works well for me. Paint doesn't seem to hold up too well; I scratched it on my car the first day I took it home. Only have 200 miles on it; I got it 3 weeks ago. Stupid Performance Bike.

I get a lot of crap about it because I work at a bike shop and didn't buy one of "their" bikes. Other than that it is a nice, quick ride.

Alright, it's time to sell my Fuji Roubaix. How much do you think is a fair price to ask for? Bike is in very good shape. Very low mileage. Rode for 1.5 seasons. No racing. Never crashed. Never dropped.

The risk you run by waiting is that someone else may snap up that older model before the price drops to the point you're looking for. This is especially true of sizes in the middle of the bell curve. Finding a sweet deal on a leftover 54 cm or 56 cm bike is usually harder than finding a leftover 49 cm or 64 cm, for example.

um... have you seen a Professional or Team Issue in 49cm on sale??? cuz Im having a hell of a time finding one all the places I call have the middle sizes only (52-58cm)

Fuji's problem has been a lack of first-rate dealers. When I ask folks which LBS do they consider the "best" in their area, they usually name a dealer that features Trek, Cannondale, Specialized, or Giant. Never a Fuji dealer.

When I locate a Fuji dealer (and they tend to be hard to find) they have two Fuji bikes in stock, both of which are entry-level bikes. I've never seen a Fuji dealer that carried Fuji road bikes at each level (Sora, Tiagra, 105, Ultegra, Dura-Ace, AND carried them in a variety of sizes.

So, Fuji fans...is there a "great" Fuji dealer out there somewhere? A dealer who keeps twenty or thirty Fuji's "in-stock" with a variety of models and sizes?

I agree, my LBS is also the authorized C'dale, and guess what, that's about all he has. A couple of the low end fiji's but that's all.

I'm not going to ride a C'dale, and if I have to order something in, I'll do it off the Internet to save on tax. So that's what I did.
Oh well

I did two long tours, one Europe one US, on a bike i bought in stockholm. When it got stolen i went without for a year. then when money loosened up i bought a Fuji Finest because they were the only shop i could find in Cambridge MA. That was in 1974. I rode to Kennebunkport ME with it. Later in CA it was stolen, but recovered by the police. the local newspaper published a letter of thanks i wrote. then it was stolen again. it was a nice bike. not my last.

Can't wait.

Here is my first road bike which I suspect might have been a Fuji ACE clone rebranded as a Dawes. Bought it from an eBay seller connected to the infamous online bike retailer whose name I won't mention here but has the initials "B"ikes & "D"irect.

Sold it as a trade-in to the Fuji LBS where I ordered my CrossComp.

And to add to all of the Trek bikes out there, here is my Trek 7.3FX. Notice the seat bag along with the seat post rack? Verrry Fred, no?

So along with being a Fred I guess this makes me a Trekkie too?

Fuji Roubaix Pro 2005 here....105 spec, carbon stays, carbon fork, aluminium frame with power diamond down tube for climbing, Ultegra pedals.....lovely ride, smooth as butter and incredibly nimble.

On the down side I've recently had to replace one of the headset bearings and the bottom bracket.

This is my first Fuji and I'd definately get another one without hesitation.

then it was stolen again.
Geez, what did you do, leave it in the nastiest neighborhood with a sign begging to steal it?

I have a 1988 Fuji Ace with genaric cromoly tubing and Suntour Blaze componants. It's not light, but it rides pretty well.

Hi! I may win the award for lowest end Fuji bike on this forum, but I love my Fuji! It's a 74-ish Light Blue Fuji Dynamic 10. I will post a pic one day. It's all original, except for the bar tape and the Brooks B-17 Honey colored saddle! Now, now....don't hate me because she's beautiful! (LOL!)

My latest Fuji -- a 1980? Royale updated with an 8 speed Shimano Nexus hub (think San Jos8).

Bearonabike 10-06-06 05:38 PM

Used to have a Fuji Esprit back in college. That bike took a royal beating and never gave me a bit of trouble. As a freshman, I totaled a Schwinn Varsity and spent 2.5 years unable to walk. When I finallty got the go-ahead, I bought it used. When I sold it, it needed new brakes, a new rear wheel (flat spot from curb jumping), and a new chain (I stretched the heck out of the old one) . In 1 year I must have put 1500 miles on that bike with NO TLC whatsoever If I could find another today, I'd buy it. The best part was, it looked ratty (dingy paint etc.) even though it was utterly reliable. I can't tell you how many times I came out of a class to find someone's Cannondale stripped at the bike rack while 'Ol Betsy remained untouched.
