Fantastic deal on eBay

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fantastic deal on eBay

Stumbled across this eBay listing: a broken frame for $2400, and you may not receive it for 5 months. Such a deal!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Failed-Alch...AAAOSwoJpa-4yt

From the description:

This Alchemy stainless steel frame is unrideable due to the failures in the top tube and the down tube.

This frame can't be repaired ... this frame is good for wall art, display in a bike shop, or as a classroom show-and-tell for a welding school. This would make some cool art or welding education piece!

Timing disclaimer: I've put in a query with the Consumer Safety Board in case this is happening with more of these frames, so shipping will have to wait until the case is investigated. I'd also like to bring this frame to the NHMBS in Sacramento to see if either of the opinions above are correct...so shipping could be delayed to February.

Yes, smart way to get message out to large number of potential Alchemy buyers. Maybe Alchemy should have worked with this buyer? This poster should have told this complete story so we dont have to guess.

Agreed

This is what i hate about high end framesets. They come with large costs and iron clad warranties (theirs is below) but too many people get denied. Multiple Weld failures can only be due to workmanship which they claim to stand by 100%

"At Alchemy Bicycles, we stand behind our products 100%. We guarantee that your frame will be free of defects in craftsmanship for as long as you own it"
