Record Ergo shifter deals

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Record Ergo shifter deals

Ok so I am still looking at converting my Salsa to Campy. Performance has put the Record shifters on sale again for $269.98 and they come with cables. Another 20% off with our coupon get that to $215.98 which is pretty darn good. Anyone know if these are the 04 or 05 model? The photo shows the 04 model but the ad doesn't specify and...if you go to Supergo they have the Record Ergo shifters on sale for $229.95 and the ad says they are the 04 model but the photo shows the 05 model. Their add also says nothing about the cables and housings being included. Anyone purchase any of these lately from Performance? Supergo? Work for them and have the inside scoop?

Also anyone know of a Supergo discount code? $229.95 minus another 20% even if they are the 04 model would be a HELL of a deal at $183.96

Selling it.

Edit: and to add to the original post I have emailed both companies (ok both branches of the same company) to ask for clarification.

Well word from Supergo is that they are 04 model for sure and they do come with cables and housings. Still waiting for Performance's reply.

10% or 15% code for Supergo maybe?

Click on my Salsa. Bike is currently a 9 speed triple but the Ultegra 6510 Brifters do both double and triple. I plan on keeping the brakes and would sell the rest of the drivetrain and maybe the wheels as well (see my other thread for that saga).

what are you thinking about for pricing? If it is a triple then I can use that. (I have sora right now but anything other than the sora thumb shifter I wil love!)

So what are you looking for? Brifters, Derailleurs, BB, and crank? FYI the front derailleur is a 28.6mm clamp on...not sure what you would need but if other than that I can keep that as it will work with the Campy shifters. So anyway lets take this off this thread, PM me with the details of exactly what parts you will want/need and I will let you know what I want.

What can you get Centaur or Chorus for? I ask because if you can get them and save some money for even better wheels, that's where I would spend it...IMHO

Go to the affiliate links section in the Market place. I believe the current code is 6001227 but that could be wrong, check the affiliates area and link to Performance though the link so BF gets the kick back from Performance.

Well neither place has Centaur and if I was going to get those I would get Veloce as they are cheaper and the same thing without the cutout in the paddle, those are $153 from AEBike. Chorus at Supergo is actually MORE than the Record and Performance doesn't stock them either. Current plan is to get a Wheels MFG conversion cassette for my current wheels since they come in 11-27. Of course I would sell the wheels and buy new in which case I believe at the moment I would get DT R1.1/Speedcific wheels from oddsandendos.com which run about $350 I think.

He doesn't need to replace his wheels if going from Shimano to Campy drivetrains. He can purchase a 10 speed shimano or shram cassette and add a campy spacer kit..

That price is correct!! Mine should be here Friday, I can't wait!!!!!!

When I upgraded to the Record shifters, I went to an LBS for them, as I encountered the same issue you are grasschopper--I didn't want to take the chance at getting a previous model or a set without cables. Of course I ended up paying a lot more due to the fact that I went through the LBS, but at least I got exactly what I wanted and got to see them before I purchased them and all, and I'm happy with that.

Well, I went to Performance and selected the Record levers, discounted to $269 or something like that, entered the 6001227 code and their site tells me that it is an outdated web code and no longer valid. Oh well...

"6001227 is good for 20% off $75.00 or more, un-known expiration date."

This is what it says in the affiliates link section and I saw on another web site that the code is good until 6/30/05. It "should" work.

Edit: I just tried it and 6001227 doesn't work but 6001228 does give 20% off.

Yea $350 gets me a 1538g wheel set shipped to my door with a 32 spoke rear and a 28 spoke front. I shouldn't have wheel issue with this wheel at all.

It is in the cards but the conversion cassette on my Velomax Circuits (at a not bad 1650g) will do in the mean time.

Yep, 6001228 does work. So, I now own some Record 10 speed levers for less than I paid for my 8 speed Chorus levers in 1995. Thanks for the help.

Glad to help Fox Farm. Performance isn't bothering to email me back...I am starting to get a little pissed about that but their price is lower plus I get credit back (TP member).

So any Supergo discount coupons? 10% or 15% or 20% anything would be great.
