Which Flat Pedals?
 

Anyone run wide/big flat pedals that they love that don't break the bank? Looking for something sub $100 for great flats.

They were not remotely cheap. I held onto the box etc when I bought them because I thought I might return them. Instead they turned out to be the most comfortable bike pedals I've ever used. I'm more comfortable on my bike than I am walking around in my regular shoes.

It looks like they released a new version of the pedal that doesn't have weird colored pins but at the moment it's only available in the UK:

I'm running Shimano PD-T8000's on my gravel bike. Flat pedal on one side, clip on the other. One season down, so far so good.

Have these on two bikes, really like them.

Real world results right here....they are awesome for the money.

The are durable. They take a shot well without getting destroyed.

They are VERY grippy in the worst conditions. Wet, mud, ice...they don't care.

Pinned flats aren't the most original thing. But these do it great for a very reasonable price.

Shimano XT PD-M8040. Most comfortable I've tried. Come with 2 sets of pins. One set is short (2 MM) nonabrasive, that works well with normal shoes (does not tear them up). The other set is more MTB length. Comes in 2 sizes. Generous platform surface that doesn't cause hot spots on your feet. Looks at home on a road bike unlike some other more MTB styled pedals. I have a set of Chesters, and another flat pedal - I think a discontinued Crank Brothers model - that I've used on both MTB, SS, and my road bike (went back to mostly clipless on this).

The Chesters are ok. The pins are not hollow like on my Crank Brothers pedals - they are solid like a nail, where as the pins on the Crank Bros that I have are hollow and seem to provide better grip. I've ridden both pedals with 5.10 shoes specifically meant for riding pinned flats. The Chesters did not perform as well as my other pedals, so they ended up on the SS.
