Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Speaking of Philly, I was listening to a bunch of Bill Burr routines the other day and came across one where he ripped into a particularly rude Philly crowd where he was performing. If you know anything about BB he cusses like a sailor, so I won't bother to post a link to the video here, but he spent a full 12 minutes insulting Philly and it's residents in every foul way he could think of. You gotta see it to believe it . . . it is harsh.

The cajun rice is a treat, so is the fried chicken, but I particularly like the fish & popcorn shrimp dish, yum.

Seen that video. I love Bill Burr. Some of his HBO specials nearly made my pee myself. "Banana's in your pancakes! What a $#!" And when he talks about motherhood being the most difficult job in the world. "Who are these mothers getting injured putting DVDs into DVD players?" "Any job that you can do in your pajamas is not the most difficult job in the world."

Saw him at the Well Fargo Center maybe 3 or 4 years ago. I would love to see him in a smaller venue. A big stadium was too impersonal.

I suppose you're right, my eyes haven't gotten that bad yet.

I've never actually had it. I find it impossible to order when red beans and rice are also on the menu.

It's a relatively uncommon test and is done (appropriately) for a fairly narrow set of reasons, mostly related to retina and brain issues. Odd thing to do simply for cataracts or CSS (can't see ****).

Since you mentioned commercials, the Chevy commercials annoy the crap out of me. Supposed to be real Chevy owners (not actors) who utter some cheesy scripted lines at just the right intervals. For example, in my best country drawl, "I luv trucks."

Oh, sorry. I've been craving boiled crawfish recently, so I was just thinking of that. And then you said frozen, and I think I passed out for a little bit in horror that anyone would find that acceptable.

But yes, for other meals such as etouffee or jambalaya it will be available (flash frozen probably).

Hope you enjoy your trip!

I’m totally familiar with that CSS condition.

I go to bojangles for their biscuits. There are not good for you but are tasty. I wash it down with diet soda with a splash of cherry soda to complete the experience.

I rode today since the wind dried things up nicely. We got 5 inches of rain which is the capacity of my rain gauge. Still haven't done the epley maneuver or scheduled an eye exam.

During my trip to Target, I was witness to an inspirational naming fail. Mom/nanny had to constantly correct the child and used the child's name each and every time.

"Temper, don't do that!"
"Get back over here, Temper!"
"Temper, put that down!"
"No Temper, you can not have that candy."
Etc
Etc

Yowsers.

Maybe it was "Tempeh," named after that awful, fermented tofu-like substance.
