Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Two different events, same weekend, just need to decide which.

She seems determined to catch a critter, to the point of being somewhat obsessed. I pinged her breeder about it and apparently she’s from actual doxie hunting stock. Her sister took best in show at a Field Trial (rabbit hunting), her brother is an active bird hunting doxie and her mother caught a rabbit (without a hunter!) before she was one. Who knew? I google dachshund hunting dogs and they’re used a lot to hunt rabbits and vermin and sometimes birds. There’s also a form of hunting in which they’re paired with a falcon or hawk, the doxie works the rabbits on the ground and the bird catches em from the air.

Not that we’re doing any of that. Just some plain vanilla critter chasing.
Sounds fun!

Georgie-Mae hunts from the bed. She lays there looking out the window, and when she sees a squirrel, she hauls tail out the dog door. She makes so much racket, the squirrel is generally safe..... Generally. Her custom is greeting me with a doll in her mouth, and one time, it wasn't really a doll. I had to move quick before Mrs. LAJ saw it.

That’s what I would do, but, in case you weren’t planning on it, take the cable off and work it by hand. That’s the only way to know if it’s really moving freely.

It's not as cold and you can do it during the 20 hours/day of darkness that we have.

Sadly, I don't think my bones, knees are up for it.

In other college football news, Pitt gives up a 4th quarter lead against ND and loses as Johnny Majors directs traffic in Knoxville.

Haha when we get home, Puppy Love is beside herself. She always grabs a toy and runs up to us with it, then runs away, then back to show us the toy, and so on...

Birds of a feather.

Breaking news

Went to return my malfunctioning light at REI today and they were out of stock so I had to return it and get a new one delivered for free. Since it was on sale an extra 25% I got it for about $60 and was refunded about $20 on a store credit card. Overall it was a $20 win. Dont know what I'll do with the $20 but I might get a rear blinky.
