Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I love vinegar on fries. And lemon juice on fries. And both. Sometimes tartar sauce.

I'll die happy if I never have ketchup on fries again.

I've never heard of this before.

I asked why and the scheduler didn't say exactly but she said often those at the end of the day get more time. Not sure if that's the real reason or she made it up.
I have recently learned that my ophthalmologist's staff will take me into the examining room first if I arrive right before the office opens after lunch...no matter what time my appointment was for. If I show up at the scheduled time later in the afternoon, I might have to wait an hour because he gets behind. If I show up promptly at 1:00, they will put me right in. It doesn't take a genius to know how to play that game.

Our view from our rented house on the Cote d'Azur. That is a little sliver of the Mediterranean Sea in
on the left side of the photo on the horizon. The hills are the Alpes Maritime. A constant stream of cyclists coming down out of these hills every day of the week.

Is 42 bucks a decent price for GP4kSII these days? If so, CC has them on sale.

Edited to add: also have Vittoria Open Corsa CX clinchers for sale - $26 for 23mm, $35 for 25mm. Good tire if mega mileage and flat protection aren't at the tippy top of your priorities.

They're the same price on Amazon with free 2 day shipping (if you have Prime), so maybe not the best deal.

I'm thinking of switching once my current pair wear out to Ultrasports since they're so much cheaper (~$40/pair) and with the amount I'm racing these days (0), I don't really care about rolling resistance or cornering grip.

EDIT: Never mind, consensus seems to be that ultrasports are trash and last 1/3rd as long as a GP4. Bad smiles per mile ratio there.

Shift ramps on cassette cogs are a leading cause of cancer. I thought everyone knew that?

Also, I love trek mogul's threads.

Do you get cancer simply from using the cassette? Or only if you shift often?

I believe only if you cross-chain, but will need @datlas to weigh in.
