Addiction LXXII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So so if my patients don’t have any of the above, I am fine with their intake of coffee.

No buzz about Knoxville coming in at #49 ? Well, the mayor gave it some

LOL. 17 miles! It'd be one thing if that was all on a main road going through downtown, but it's scattered about in little chunks here and there. Almost pointless, but I guess the recreational riders go for it.

also, wut

The city created mountain bike trails within riding distance of town, and it's close to world-class road riding in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
There's great riding near GSMNP, but in it? For one thing, there's not many roads in it. And secondly there's a lot of traffic. So not so much, unless you go quieter times on weekdays.

Five years just to improve diagnosis.

We're going to have cures for all cancers before we start to have a clue on autoimmune disorders. Sigh.

The Trouble with a Lyme Disease Diagnosis
Thank you for that. I can verify all the problems they have in getting an accurate lyme diagnosis. Clearly we need a better diagnostic test because at present it's very difficult to tell the difference between an old infection and a new one. Meanwhile you just suffer from all sorts of debilitating symptoms. Just last week I went birding and after just a half hour of standing it felt like I had been standing for 3 hours. Just fatigue may not sound like much, but it prevents you from having a normal life.

Why don't you have a chair?

I don't have lyme, but I don't like standing that long if I don't have to.

Today I received a pair of cycling shoes from @MoAlpha.

They are a bit big for me. I will have to do a test ride to determine if they are too big.

Yep, I have the palpitation problem but I can fix in a day or two by backing off. I know when I'm over-caffeinated if I get up in the morning and have palpitations after the first 16 oz. cup, sort of like an alcoholic who's drunk after one beer because they've never truly dried out.

Anyway, I recognize the warning signs and can usually fix it in a day, two at the most.

There are times and situations where a chair is inconvenient, at other times it works perfectly. Normally I'm perfectly capable of standing for 3 hours, but when that's a struggle it's a clear sign something is wrong.

@Jadesfire The cruise is getting close now, less than 3 weeks away. It's getting exciting. We'll arrive in N.O. Nov. 11.

Cajun rice and fries mixed together, drenched in their gravy. I forgot about Popeyes, but you got me thinking...… There are worse things out there.

It's come to my attention that there's a unit of Polka for cycling out there. I've added it to my ebay searches.
